This property was once owned by Stephen F. Austin - He once described it as being "on the Colorado at the foot of the Mountains".
In 1914 the property was purchased by Clara Driscoll and her husband Hal Sevier. They built this house on that property in 1916. Laguna Gloria was named in part after one of Clara Driscoll's family ranches in Duval County. The house and property is right on Lake Austin west of Austin, Texas. The close proximity to water is probably the reason it was referred to as a lagoon. 1943 the property was donated to be used as a museum. There are festivals, exhibits and art classes consisting of photography, clay modeling, etc. given year round. The museum is beautiful as are the grounds surrounding the home.
